We champion a spirit of cooperation and responsibility.

We urge the Town of Copake and the solar developer Hecate, to negotiate an agreement  with compromise on both sides.

Hecate has already promised…

  • to provide $5M - $7M in taxes to Copake.

  • to protect wetlands.
Hecate must abide by NY State’s strict environmental regulations in order to build Shepherd’s Run.

  • to graze sheep alongside the solar panels, grow native plants and cultivate pollinator species.
Ending the use of pesticides and fertilizers will help restore tired, depleted soils.

  • to help build a key section of the Harlem Valley Rail Trail.

  • to contribute a hefty budget for screening of panels with trees and shrubs.
